Group Owner Terms of Service

The terms that apply when you create, own, administer, or accept ownership of a group on ESB Groups.

1. Your responsibility as a Group Owner

You are responsible for the group you create, including its name, description, branding, channels, roles, permissions, events, rules, staff appointments, moderation decisions, and content you or your authorised team publish through the group.

You must take reasonable steps to keep your group safe, accurately represented, and appropriately managed. Giving another person a role or permission does not remove your responsibility as the Group Owner.

2. Account eligibility and truthful information

You may only create or own a group using an eligible ESB Games account that you are authorised to use. Group names, descriptions, ownership claims, affiliations, and branding must not deliberately mislead users or impersonate another person, organisation, creator, product, or community.

Where parental or guardian approval is required by applicable law or by ESB Games account controls, you are responsible for obtaining that approval before creating or operating a group.

3. Safety, moderation and member protection

You must not use a group to organise, encourage, host, or distribute content or conduct that breaches ESB Games safety rules or applicable law. You must respond reasonably to harmful behaviour, abuse reports, and moderation issues within areas you control.

  • Do not encourage harassment, threats, hate, exploitation, grooming, scams, fraud, or dangerous conduct.
  • Do not knowingly create spaces intended to evade platform moderation or enforcement.
  • Do not expose private or sensitive information about another person without proper permission.
  • Do not use roles, channels, events, or announcements to facilitate prohibited transactions or harmful activity.

4. Content and intellectual property

You must have the right to use content you upload or publish in your group, including names, logos, artwork, images, text, audio, video, and other materials. You must not knowingly infringe another person's copyright, trademark, privacy, publicity, or other rights.

You retain any rights you already hold in your content. You grant ESB Games the rights reasonably necessary to host, display, process, moderate, secure, and deliver that content as part of the Groups service.

5. Group staff, roles and permissions

You are responsible for assigning permissions carefully. Only give moderation, management, financial, event, announcement, or channel permissions to people you trust. You should review access when staff leave, change responsibilities, or no longer need elevated permissions.

Actions taken by authorised group staff may be treated as actions taken on behalf of the group for platform administration and enforcement purposes.

6. Commercial features, ESBucks and Boost Bucks

Some group features may involve ESBucks, Boost Bucks, paid creation, subscriptions, marketplace features, or other virtual-value systems. Any displayed price must be accepted before a charge is made. Virtual currency and group benefits remain subject to the relevant ESB Games economy rules and may not be converted, sold, or transferred outside approved systems unless ESB Games expressly allows it.

Creating additional groups may require an ESBucks charge after any free creation allowance has been used. The creation screen will show the applicable charge before you confirm creation.

7. Privacy and data

Do not collect or request unnecessary personal information from group members. If your group independently collects information outside ESB Games, you are responsible for complying with applicable privacy and data-protection requirements and for clearly explaining what you collect and why.

You must not ask members for passwords, authentication codes, payment credentials, or other security secrets.

8. Transfers, ownership changes and deletion

A Group Owner may only transfer ownership using an approved ESB Groups ownership-transfer process. You are responsible for checking the intended recipient before confirming a transfer. Once a transfer is completed, the new owner becomes responsible for the group under the then-current Group Owner Terms.

ESB Games may restrict, suspend, archive, or remove a group where necessary for safety, legal compliance, platform integrity, abuse prevention, prolonged inactivity, or serious or repeated rule violations.

9. Enforcement and cooperation

ESB Games may investigate group activity, restrict specific features, remove content, revoke permissions, require ownership changes, suspend a group, or take account-level action when reasonably necessary to enforce applicable rules or protect users and the platform.

You agree not to obstruct legitimate safety or moderation reviews and to provide accurate information when ESB Games requests information reasonably necessary to investigate group activity.

10. Service changes and availability

Groups features, limits, pricing, permissions, discovery systems, moderation systems, and availability may change as the service develops. ESB Games does not guarantee that every group feature will always be available or uninterrupted.

11. Changes to these terms

ESB Games may update these Group Owner Terms. If a change is material, owners may be asked to review and accept a new version before continuing to use certain owner or management features. The version and effective date shown on this page identify the agreement you accepted.

12. Contact and support

If you have questions about group ownership, moderation, safety, or these terms, use the official ESB Games support channels available through the ESB Games website.
